This Sunday, May 20th, we celebrate the teaching ministry of the church for the year. Pastor Kent preaches from the Book of Acts, "God Raises Up Leaders." Following the 8:30 and 11:00 AM worship services there will be a special educational open house in the lower level with an opportunity for the congregation to tour the educational facility.
Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
With Heart, Head, and Hands
We need deep Christians who have passionate hearts, think perceptively, and reach out their hands with the love of Jesus Christ. The historic purpose statement of the church, “to know Christ and to make Christ known,” continues to guide our life and mission in the twenty-first century, reinforcing Third Reformed Church’s strong tradition of worshiping God with our minds.
We
want to continue to be deep disciples while also offering our hearts in praise to God and our hands in practical deeds of service. We believe that many in our community and the world are searching not for a simplistic or easy faith, but a faith that engages the whole self before God. We seek to create not just members of the church, but disciples of Jesus who are passionate, thoughtful and reflective, and put faith into action in the community and the world.
